IRRESPONSIBLE pet owners have been branded ‘vile and disgusting’ for dumping dog poo bags on streets, parks and alleyways across Knutsford.
Dozens of neon green poop bags have been discarded just yards from waste bins.
A growing mound has been discovered on a passageway between Thorneyholme Drive and Sharston Crescent.

A woman, who lives near blighted ginnel, said: “It’s absolutely vile.
“I just can’t understand it.
“Why would someone go to the trouble of picking up their dog’s dirt, put it in bag and then dump it?
“It is disgusting.
“What annoys me is there is a bin just over the road.
“I feel this is an environmental and health issue.
“I think people need to be brought to task as it’s disgraceful.”
Another resident added: “The smell will be horrific as it decays.
“I wish we could catch these dog owners and name and shame them.”
Another man said: “Why do people do this? Why don’t they just put it in the bin or take it home.”
Parents taking their children for a walk say they are ‘disgusted’ by the amount of bags full of dog poo discarded in Dogwood, a wooded area near Tatton Park.
One mum said: “It is a disgrace. Dog faeces can pose health risks to children.
“How can people be so irresponsible.”
Residents are also outraged over the increasing number of waste bags full of dog excrement left hanging in trees.
One woman told The Guardian: “People are leaving bags of dog poo hanging on branches.
“It is disgusting.”
Adam Keppel-Green, clerk of Knutsford Town Council said: “Part of having a dog is the responsibility to clean up after it does its business and put that waste in a bin, not dump it on the streets or down alleys.
“There is absolutely no excuse for this appalling behaviour, with a litter bin less than 100 metres from where the bags have been dumped down this ginnel.
“If anyone has any information on who is responsible or the times it happens, please let us or Cheshire East Council’s enforcement team know so they can be held accountable.”
Dog owners have a legal and moral responsibility to pick up after their pets.
Hanging bagged dog waste from trees or dumping it in public spaces is considered littering and is an offence.
Anyone who fails to clear up after their dog can be issued with a fixed penalty notice of up to £100.
If the case goes to court this could cost the owner or person in charge of the animal up to £1,000.
