A DRIVER who was almost four times over the legal alcohol limit has been banned from the road.
Caroline Farrand, of Edenfield Close, Mobberley, admitted having 129 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at Stockport Magistrates Court on March 2.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millitres of breath.
The defendant failed a breath test on December 1, last year, when she was driving a Vauxhall Corsa on Mill Lane in Mobberley, the court heard.
Magistrates banned the 35-year-old from holding or obtaining a driving licence for three years and her driving record was endorsed.
This disqualification will be reduced if Farrand satisfactorily completes a course approved by the Secretary of State.
The defendant was given a community service order and must complete six months treatment for alcohol dependency, as directed by a supervising officer.
Farrand must also carry out 150 hours unpaid work within the next 12 months.
The defendant was fined £95 and ordered to pay £85 costs.
The bench granted permission for the £180 court penalty to be paid from March 30 at a rate of £5 per week.
