A MOBBERLEY pub has been ranked one of the best in the country, and the best in Cheshire.
The Church Inn on Pepper Street has been listed in the National Pub and Bar Awards 2016, being named the top watering hole in Cheshire.
A total of 94 county winners across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland have been selected as the best in their area and will attend the grand final in London’s BAFTA theatre on Tuesday, May 24 to find out who will be crowned the regional winners.
Tim Bird and Mary Mclaughlin, owners of Cheshire Cat Pubs & Bars which includes The Church Inn, said: “Since the restoration and re-opening of the Church Inn back in 2013, Simon and the team have worked exceptionally hard to offer guests a welcoming country pub that provides a great balance of flavoursome food with a wide choice of wines and craft beers, all within a relaxed environment. We are very proud of them indeed."
The county winners have been chosen Pub & Bar magazines internal judging panel marked on all of the aspects required to provide ‘ultimate hospitality’.
Categories which were assessed by the judges include product range, design and entertainment schedules as well as many more.
Tristan O’Hana, editor of Pub & Bar magazine, said: “These pubs represent all that is great about the modern on-trade.
“You can only imagine the fantastic variety of operations we have discovered through the judging process. It’s been an absolute pleasure to investigate just how all of these incredible operators run their businesses.
“What’s great about the Awards is that all the attendees of the Grand Final are already winners. We are very much looking forward to celebrating with everyone at BAFTA in London on 24 May.”
