A BEACON will be lit to honour the Queen’s 90th birthday on Thursday, April 21 in Lower Peover.
St Oswald’s Church, on Crown Lane, will celebrate Her Majesty’s milestone birthday by lighting the famous beacon on top of the church tower and by ringing the bells.
There will also be a birthday party at the church as guests will raise a glass to the Queen and share in a big ‘British birthday cake’.
The church has a tradition of celebrating significant national events, with the lighting of the beacon for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee on June 2 2012 and VE Day on May 8, 2015.
Tickets for the event are available at £10. To purchase contact 01565 722880.
