A MOBBERLEY pub is celebrating after receiving a trio of awards in one week.
The Church Inn, on Church Lane, found out it has been listed in the Michelin’s pub guide on the same day as winning the ‘most stylish dining experience’ at the Hilden Awards and being crowned the winner of the Mobberley Scarecrow competition.
The pub only reopened after refurbishment two years ago and this is the first time it has been listen in the Michelin Guide.
Tim Bird, co-owner of the Church Inn, said: “We’re extremely proud of the team and everything they have achieved. All three successes are important in the development of both the Church Inn and our pub business as a whole.
“Being a big part of the community and doing the community proud is very important to us. The pubs are very competitive and the Church Inn now has bragging rights over its sister pub the Bulls Head who did manage third place in the village Scarecrow Competition.”
Tim Bird and Mary McLaughlin opened the Church Inn in 2013 after acquiring it in a near derelict state before fully restoring it.
