A 52-YEAR-OLD man has died after a collision on the A556 last night, Monday.
Police officers were called to the road at 4pm on Monday, January 19 where they found a two vehicle road traffic collision had occurred on the A556 Chester Road.
The accident, between a blue Fiat Qubo and a grey BMW - happened on the stretch of road - that has recently had a change of speed limit due to the bypass works - between the Bucklow Hill crossroads and Bowdon Roundabout.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the Fiat Qubo, a 52-year-old man from Northwich, sustained fatal injuries at the scene.
The driver of the BMW coupe, a 44-year-old man from the Manchester area, was uninjured.
As a result of the collision the road was closed for more than four hours.
Cheshire Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to make contact with Cheshire Police via the non-emergency number 101, quoting incident number 515 of 19 January 2015.
