A KNUTSFORD fun day promises to be the ‘purrfect’ day out as animal lovers flood into Plumley Village Hall on August 4.
The furry fundraising event is to raise money for the Northern Birman Cat Club and SMIRA, a charity for Selective Mutism, a form of autism.
The guests of honour will be Jessi-Cat and Lorcan Dillon, along with author mum, Jayne Dillon.
Lorcan is a sufferer on Selective Mutism and struggled to ever speak in company.
His specialist suggested he get a pet, so his mum Jayne bought a Birman Cat and named her Jessi-Cat.
This helped Loran’s confidence and he slowly began to speak.
Lorcan’s story helped Jessi-Cat to win Cats Protection Cat of the Year 2012.
Jayne has now written a book, and she will be selling signed copies of this on the day.
There will also be dancing at the fundraising event by Sharron James Dance Academy, numerous games including The Human Fruit Machine, a Deal or No Deal-style game, a tombola, cream teas, an auction and a barbecue.
To round off off the day there will be an ‘In Memory’ balloon launch to remember the late Lee Rigby, and a member of his family has been invited to release the balloons.
Admission is £5 for an adult, which will include a hotdog or burger.
