WHILE on a recent walk around the Lindow Moss area it was worrying to see the number of fallen trees along Rotherwood Road.
Whether this is a result of the nearby drainage of the peat through excavation I can only guess, but the loss of these mature trees is sad to see in this era of ‘climate emergency’.
In contrast, however, I am pleased to say that the volunteer conservation rangers at Quarry Bank Mill are busy planting thousands of trees in the grounds to offset the loss described above.
