I’VE never written to the papers before, but in all my life, I have never been so enraged by Knutsford Town Council’s decision to slap us with a 37 per cent increase in rates, while at the same time, spending £50,000 on new positions at the council.

I am literally filled with rage at this decision, and ask that the council urgently reconsider.

People like me simply cannot afford increases of this level, and we are struggling enough with life and expenses without the simply huge increase that this will involve.

They now have the nerve to trumpet their taking over of the cemetery.

Well, I want lower rates, and so does everyone I have spoken to. We are all enraged by the council slapping this increase on us.

I urge my fellow Knutsfordians to complain in the strongest possible terms about this council.

Can you please stop this increase?
