I follow the Knutsford Guardian weekly from abroad, and find it hard to believe that the unelected Knutsford Town Council has forced its taxpayers to pay a 37 per cent increase in taxes.
They must surely have a rethink, especially if what Mr Clarke says is correct that they plan to employ a further three people at the council costing them £50,000. Is this some kind of bizarre reverse logic?
How can even unelected politicians not know that you don’t increase your expenditure when you have a huge deficit?
Of course, I think that the Labour Party has this policy of spending money they don’t have, so it is even more puzzling that the council politicians claim to be Conservative, supposed to be known for fiscal responsibility, but I rather think, losing that reputation at one stroke with these irresponsible decisions.
