KNUTSFORD kickboxer Lyla Souch has displayed her talent on the world stage.

Having earned the right to represent England at the WKKC World Championships in Portugal courtesy of her impressive displays at national level, the Knutsford Academy Year Nine student came home with a bronze medal in her first ever world-level competition.

Lyla, who practices kickboxing at the Academy of Martial Arts Cheshire based at Egerton Youth Club, picked up her bronze medal in her age group’s under 55kgs points fighting category, winning one of her fights by over 10 points.

Indeed, she came close to bringing home another bronze in the continuous fighting category, but was narrowly beaten in the quarter-finals.

Lyla had secured her place on the England team to travel to Portugal by winning points fighting bronze at the WKKC English Championships back in March.
