THERE was a familiar winner when the great and good of Knutsford snooker assembled for an ever-popular tournament.

The “6 Reds” competition – played over a shorter format – saw 24 players battle it out for the title at Wilmslow Conservative Club and in the end, it was Adam Griffiths who emerged victorious.

The Shaw Heath cueman beat Mobberley’s Leung Yu in the final to secure his third “6 Reds” crown following a series of brilliant performances that included breaks of 63, 53 and 42.

Griffiths had ended host club Wilmslow’s hopes of a home winner by beating Les Sullivan in the semi-finals, while Leung saw off his Mobberley clubmate Vinni Rossi in the last four to advance to the trophy match.
