HEYROSE Golf club recently staged the Robert Rock Junior Golf Tour.
This highly prestigious tour was established in 2016 by PGA professional Robert Rock and events are held at top-class venues including The London Club and The Belfry.
The inclusion of Heyrose in the Robert Rock winter schedule is a major achievement for the club and members look forward to working with the tour going forward.
In a close-run contest, James Woby, Ted Myatt, Fergus Clare and Max Beddow from Alsager Golf Club won the 18-hole event with a very creditable score of 80 points.
Runners-up were a combination from Stoke, Nottingham and Hull with 78 points.
They secured the runners-up place on a count back from a combination from Nottingham, Dartmouth and Worcester, who also scored 78 points.
The nine-hole event for under 12s was won by Noah Robatham (Druids Heath, Walsall) Lucas Orsi (Buckingham), Lachlan Tod (Haydock Park) and Tallulah Rasheed (Wilpshire, Blackburn).
Elsewhere, a 12-hole stableford for Styal women was close with Helen Billington on top with 20 from Andrea Savin, 19, and Sue Millat and Sue Grange, both 18.
The Captain’s BB Challenge at Styal was led in by junior stars Wilf Simcock and Zach Norcross after a card play-off on 40, with A Karwat and L Wolstenholme, one clear of Rick Worsley and G Jones.
The Sunday Stableford at Styal was won by David Blackburn, 38, from Damian Moran, 37, and Rick Worsley, 36.
Styal’s Friday Frolics had Hilton Alexander on top with 19 from Richard Johnson, 18, and Tony Woodfinden and Chris Wilmott, both 17.
The Pro Shop Stableford at Alderley Edge had the divisions led in by Jan Cichocki, 17, Mike O’Regan, 21, and Janett Smith, 17.
The first round of the Edge Winter League saw professional Charles le Sueur and vice captain Harry Sexton open their account with a win over vice captain-elect Harrison Pecki.
A women’s stableford at Alderley Edge was close, with Liz Gardner winning with 35 from Mary O’Toole, 34, and Janette Smith, 33.
The nine-hole winner was Brenda Broomhall, 17, one more than Vicky Burns.
