SHE may not have won the trophy, but the Girls’ County Champion of Champions tournament was still one to remember for Isabella Taylor-Stokes.

The Styal Golf Club member, who was representing Cheshire at Woodhall Spa, bagged her second ever hole-in-one during an impressive first round that saw her lead the tournament.

Taking a pitching wedge to the par-three 16th at Woodhall’s Bracken course, Taylor-Stokes’ tee shot found its way into the hole to put the seal on an excellent opening to the competition.

Her round also saw her hit four birdies to lead the 32-strong field after the first round, with Hertfordshire’s Darcie West, Buckinghamshire’s Ellie Lichtenhein and Molly Campbell of Yorkshire in a three-way tie for second.

Unfortunately, however, Taylor-Stokes did not have the same fortune in her second round, with seven bogeys leaving her in third place with a total gross score of 149 (five over par).

West was the eventual winner of the tournament, edging out Lichtenhein in a play-off after both had finished on 148 (four over par) after 36 holes.
