BOTH Knutsford and Egerton head into September battling at the right end of the table.

Cheshire League One third-placed side Knutsford drew 1-1 at leaders Daten in Warrington on Saturday.

Jake Maunder was their scorer, while Joseph O’Neill netted for the hosts.

While that was being played out, second-placed Egerton were in the throes of their own 1-1 draw at home to Pilkington Under 23s.

Mustafa Al-Rubaiai fired home for the Yellows against a Pilks side who had two players sent off, each after receiving second yellow cards.

Another local side in the same division, Styal, are struggling at the bottom end currently.

They had a bottom-two clash away to Congleton Town Reserves on Saturday and drew 0-0.

Knutsford will continue on the league front this Saturday as they pay a visit to Pilkington Under 23s, while Styal will welcome eighth-placed FC St Helens Reserves as their guests.

But Egerton will be in knockout action, playing host to Hoole Rangers in the Cheshire FA Amateur Cup.
