SCHOOL children took part in a tournament organised and staged by Knutsford Tennis Club.

The club’s annual mini tennis cluster event proved to be as popular as always.

Youngsters from primary schools Mobberley, Manor Park, St Vincent De Paul, Egerton and Bexton competed exceptionally well against each other as many parents and school representatives watched on.

The overall winners were St Vincent De Paul Catholic Primary School, with Egerton a close runner up.

Knutsford Tennis Club coach Mark Airey said: “All the children represented their respective schools with impeccable behaviour and showed great sportsmanship to each other throughout.”

Mark has been offering free tennis sessions through the summer months to all the primary schools in the area for 15 years which leads up to the annual event.

The Mereheath club continue to provide a friendly pathway for all children and adults to access tennis with many competitive and social events held throughout the year.

For kids, the club are gearing up to the very popular tennis camps throughout the summer holidays.
