KNUTSFORD and District Amateur Snooker League leaders Shaw Heath fell to a second successive defeat.
Their 5-2 loss at the hands of Mobberley B, despite another fine break of 42 from John Berry, did not impact them as badly as it could have.
Shaw Heath still have a comfortable nine-point lead at the top of the table because their nearest rivals, Mobberley C, also lost by the same scoreline to Mere A.
This result moves Mere up into fourth place.
Heald Green climb into third with a 5-2 victory over Wilmslow Cons A, helped by a 100-plus frame score by Sam Bell.
Last year's top two teams met each other with Tatton A overcoming Morley Green 4-3 in a typically tight encounter.
Michael Ford's 114-point frame score helped Tatton C to a 5-2 success over Mere B, while Wilmslow Cons B defeated Mobberley A 4-3 with Jason Robinson scoring 100+ points for the winners.
