MORE than 1,100 runners tackled this year’s Tatton Yule Yomp 10K.
Dedicated athletes, and some more recreational runners in festive fancy dress, battled with a mix of trail paths, grass, tarmac, gravel and mud on a single-lap course through and around Tatton Park, finishing at Egerton Youth Club.
First to finish from Knutsford Tri Club was David Armitage, who was 13th overall and second in the over 50s section.
Run Knutsford's 64th-placed Jennie Woods was third in the women's over 45s category
Wilmslow Striders' Katie Thompson was second women's over 35 runner, 56th overall.
And Nick Jackson got home first for Wilmslow Running Club, placing as third over 55 runner and 38th overall, while clubmate Paul Garnett was second in the men's over 60s and 73rd overall.
Daniel Orr was a clear winner, finishing two minutes clear of the rest of the field.
And a comfortable victor in the women’s race was Vale Royal Athletics Club’s Sarah Murphy, who was 37 seconds ahead of the next finishing female as she came home eighth overall.
Murphy, who won the women’s race in 2021, 2018 and 2017 too, also took the prize as the first over 45 woman to cross the line.
