INTERNATIONAL rowing siblings are ready to give their all for Great Britain again.

European Championships medallists Tom and Emily Ford will be tackling World Rowing Cup II in Varese, Italy, this weekend.

Leander Club oarsman Tom will again be a part of the men's eight which won gold in the Europeans in Bled last month.

The rest of the crew features Will Stewart (Leander Club), Morgan Bolding (Oxford Brookes University BC), Jacob Dawson (Leander Club/Plymouth ARC), Sholto Carnegie (Leander Club), Rory Gibbs (Oxford Brookes University BC), Tom Digby (Oxford Brookes University BC), James Rudkin (Newcastle University BC) and cox Harry Brightmore (Oxford Brookes University BC).

And Tom's younger sister Emily will be a member of the women's eight which won silver in Slovenia, while also doubling up to compete in one of two women’s four boats.

Taking part in the four is a change from Bled for Emily, who finished fifth in a pair.

She will join her Leander clubmates Natasha Morrice, Rowan McKellar, Lauren Irwin, Karen Bennett, Esme Booth, Hattie Taylor, Annie Campbell-Orde and cox Henry Fieldman in the eight.

Emily will have company from Irwin, Bennett and Taylor in the four.

Tom and Emily, who hail from Holmes Chapel and are former students of The Grange School in Hartford, Northwich, are in a Team GB squad that topped the Europeans medal table.

Commenting on the team selection, Louise Kingsley, British Rowing director of performance,

said: “The European Championships were a good first regatta for us but we’ve come away,

reviewed our performances and made changes to some crews while others have stayed the

same.

"Testing out these new combinations in Varese is another step in our learning process as

we move towards forming our final teams for qualification and winning medals at the World

Championships in Belgrade, later this summer.”
