TATTON A are celebrating silverware success on the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League competition scene as well as being crowned champions.
This season’s Bert Astles Memorial Pairs competition came to a thrilling climax, with Tatton’s Ian McHale and Ian Snelson picking up the trophy in a final that was decided on the last black of the deciding frame.
Mere’s James Owen and Alex McDonough came agonisingly close but were ultimately unable to prevent the Tatton duo from adding the pairs title to the league winners’ trophy that they picked up on the previous evening as part of the Tatton A team.
The winners had earlier edged out Shaw Heath’s Adam Griffiths and Shaun Brearly by two frames to one.
The other semi final saw James and Alex defeat Mere A teammates Richard Owen and Alec Wright 2-0.
A few other matters were settled in the final league games of the season.
Morley Green sealed a second consecutive runners-up spot despite a 4-3 defeat to Mobberley B.
Mere A's fine late season form continued with a 4-3 win over Wilmslow Cons A that sees them finish third on the ladder.
There was an interesting three-way battle to avoid finishing bottom of the table and Mere C ensured it wouldn't be them with a fine 6-1 victory over Mobberley A - despite a 39 break and ton-plus score for Mobberley's Mark Newall.
Tatton C won their derby match against their B team 4-3 with ton-plus scores in the match from Mark Murphy, Francis Evans and Adrian Hough.
The result meant that Wilmslow Cons B's 4-3 victory against cup finalists Shaw Heath was not quite enough to stop them from finishing bottom.
Individually, the race for the season-long best performance prize was won by Mobberley’s Leung Yu who won 14 of his 20 frames.
Adam Griffiths of Shaw Heath won the National Snooker Expo highest league break prize with his break of 67, earning him a £67 cheque. His teammate Shaun Brearly ended the season as the league’s lowest handicapper on -36.
