MORLEY Green have moved themselves back into title Knutsford and District Snooker League title contention with a sensational 6-1 victory over leaders Tatton A.
That has cut the gap at the top to just three points at the top of the table.
Ian McHale scored 100+ points in his frame for Tatton, but the night firmly belonged to Morley Green.
With just two weeks of the season left, the Wilmslow club would need to outscore Tatton A by four points or more over the course of the remaining games to surpass them at the top of the table.
Third-placed Mobberley A are now five points behind Tatton A and continue to have an outside chance but their 4-3 defeat to Tatton C has left them needing two big wins in their remaining games to have any chance.
Paul Baston and Michael Ford both scored 100+ points for Tatton C and Mobberley’s Paul Adkin had a fantastic 60 break in his 105-point frame.
Tatton B remain in fourth place despite a 4-3 defeat to Mobberley B.
Mobberley C and Mere A remain in the top half of the table despite defeats to Mere C and Wilmslow Cons B.
Wilmslow Cons A defeated cup finalists Shaw Heath 5-2 with Vic McAfee scoring 121 points in his frame.
