SHAW Heath are closing in on the Knutsford and District Amateur Snooker League title.
Following a commanding 6-1 victory over Tatton A in the latest round of matches, they have stretched their lead at the top of the table to seven points with just four games left to play.
However, pushing them all the way are second-placed Morley Green, who kept themselves in the running with a hard-fought 4-3 win over Tatton B.
In the battle of two Mobberley outfits, the A team beat the B side 5-2 to move up to third in a game that featured three-figure frame scores for Mark Newall and Steve Flinders as well as a 41 break from Mike Roylance.
At the bottom, four teams are separated by just two points after last week’s bottom two teams both won.
Tom Lane starred in Wilmslow Cons B’s 4-3 win over Tatton C with a 112-point frame, while Alex McDonough’s 100+ frame score helped Mere A to a 5-2 win over their C team.
Earlier in the week, Wilmslow Cons A scored a fine 6-1 victory over Mobberley C.
