HOLMES Chapel protect a perfect record against neighbours Knutsford when the teams meet this weekend.

The men from Station Road, victors when the two teams met at the Academy in October, have the upper hand in previous meetings with their foes from down the A50.

Both prepared for Saturday’s derby with a defeat though.

Knutsford, winners in South Lancashire & Cheshire Division Three for the first time in 18 attempts last weekend, lost 64-0 at home to high-flying Port Sunlight.

Holmes Chapel suffered a third straight defeat, albeit a narrow one at nearby Congleton where they lost by five points.

They slip a position, to tenth, in the table as a result of that reverse.

After seven successive league victories against Blues, the can be confident of extending the sequence at Station Road this weekend.

Ed Meyrick scored a hat-trick of tries in the return game, a fourth from Tom Chambers completing a 24-7 victory.

Meanwhile Holmes Chapel seconds lost 57-31 at Wilmslow fourths in the North West Intermediate League’s Division Five South on Saturday.
