TWO men smashed up someone’s car over a work disagreement.
Adam Matts and Liam Oldham have been sentenced after admitting to criminal damage and threatening behaviour.
The victim reported that he was approached by the two men after parking on Macclesfield Road in Alderley Edge on July 26.
Matts and Oldham began kicking and pulling on the victim’s car from either side, in an attempt to get him out of the vehicle.
The victim told police he believes this incident was connected to a previous ‘work-related disagreement’ which led to Matts being fired.
Cheshire Police say Matts and Oldham caused ‘significant damage’ to the car, a Kia Sportage, pulling a doorhandle off and breaking and denting other parts.
In total, the damage was estimated to have been worth around £3,000.
Matts, of Wadebrook Grove in Wilmslow, appeared at Chester Magistrates Court for sentencing on Tuesday, November 26.
The 34-year-old was handed a 12-month community order, as part of which he must complete 150 hours of unpaid work.
He will also have to pay £125 in compensation and court costs of £400 after initially denying the threatening behaviour charge.
Meanwhile, 38-year-old Oldham of Gantock Walk in Rusholme was sentenced at Crewe Magistrates Court, also on November 26.
He was given the same length community order, hours of unpaid work and compensation costs but will only have to pay £85 in court fees.
