Hundreds of shoppers packed into the village last year for a feast of yuletide family fun.

Many shops will be staying open on the Sunday evening.

A festive fairground returns and local groups and schools will be performing Christmas music.

Community organisation Holmes Chapel Partnership, the team behind the hugely popular Harry’s Home Village Tour which launched this year, is once again hosting the event.

Gail Griggs, events coordinator for Holmes Chapel Partnership, said: “Last year’s Christmas Market and Fair was fantastic and the highlight of the year for many residents in Holmes Chapel.

“We are incredibly excited to bring the whole community together for an evening of festive celebrations.

“Please come along and support our wonderful village.”

The Square will be closed to traffic from the roundabouts to Parkway to accommodate more than 40 festive stalls.

A further 10 stalls will be located inside the scout hall.

Local vendors will be joined by new faces and products.

Organisers say it is the ‘perfect place’ to find Christmas gifts, while supporting local businesses and organisations.

Festive performances by local groups and schools will take place on the stage near St Luke’s Church, with music and dedications provided by Dane Sound.

Santa Claus will also be out on his sleigh to meet the children.

A fairground on the car park behind Tesco will offer a choice of games and thrills to keep children, teenagers and the young at heart entertained. Local businesses and organisations Duttons Builders Merchants, Holmes Chapel Parish Council, Massey Feeds, Hurstwood Holdings, TMC Strategic Communications, Joe White’s Fun Fairs, Sibelco, Laura Wilson School of Dance, Hipswing, Dales, Top Secret Furniture, Restore Fitness, Preparia, Taylor CoachWorks, and The Villages Mag are generously sponsoring the event.

A plea has been made for more volunteers to help out on the day.
