A POIGNANT poppy blanket has been created by a team of dedicated ladies.
Volunteers have painstakingly knitted and crotcheted more than 1,200 knitted poppies as a tribute to local heroes who fell during the two World Wars.
The annual poppy display was organised by Mobberley Parish Council.

A swathe of purple poppies stitched into the design represents the horses who fell during various conflicts.
Parish councillors laid the blanket into place outside Mobberley Victory Hall with help from a couple of Explorer Scouts and their dads.
Viv Pike, district Explorer Scout lead volunteer said: “A fitting tribute positioned at the foot of the Remembrance Soldier in front of Mobberley Victory Hall which was built more than 100 years ago as a memorial to those who gave their lives to save others.”
A spokesman for Mobberley Parish Council posted on social media: “Our wonderful councillors laid the stunning poppy blanket with help from a couple of the Explorer Scouts and their dads.
“Thank you so much to Anne Holloway, Sue Bellamy and Karen Baker.”
