KIND-HEARTED pupils turned Santa to give young patients who may end up in hospital over the festive period a special gift.
Hermitage Primary School has collected pyjamas and raised funds for local hospitals to ensure children staying in hospital over Christmas have new, cosy pyjamas.
Year 1 pupils led the initiative and, with the support of the school community, have donated almost 100 pairs of pyjamas and raised more than £250 for the appeal.

Helen Bailey, a year 1 teacher, said: "The class wanted to do something special for children who might not be able to spend Christmas at home.”
The pyjamas and funds are being collected this week to be distributed to local hospitals.
It is hoped they will help bring some comfort to children of all ages from babies to teens, who unexpectedly find themselves in hospital over Christmas.
Hermitage Primary School's initiative highlights the generosity and compassion of its pupils, serving as an inspiring example of community spirit.
