DRIVERS are facing long delays on the M6 in Cheshire following a crash between a lorry and a car.
The motorway was fully closed for almost an hour earlier this afternoon.
Heavy congestion is still reported on both carriageways.
The accident happened between junction 15 and 16 on the northbound carriageway.
All restrictions were lifted shortly before 3.45pm but there are delays of up to two hours are expected.
Drivers are warned to allow extra time for their journeys.
A spokesman for Highways England said: “Long delays due to an earlier accident, a lorry and a car involved on the M6 northbound between j15 and 16.”
