TWO drivers have been taken to hospital after two cars overturned in a multiple-vehicle crash.
Police were called to reports of a two vehicle collision at 8.21am on Friday on the M6 southbound between junction 18 and junction 17.
The crash is believed to have happened between lanes two and three.
A spokesman for Cheshire police said: "Both vehicles overturned in the collision, resulting in the closure of multiple lanes."
All closures were lifted at 9.40am.
Drivers had experienced miles of congestion.
A spokesman for North West Ambulance Service NHS Trust said: "Two drivers were taken to hospital with minor injuries."
Three lanes of the motorway were closed earlier this morning as emergency services dealt with the incident.
