FIREWORKS night is fast approaching.

Love it or hate it, Guy Fawkes Night is almost here and as ever Mid Cheshire has no shortage of great family-friendly events and activities lined up.

Whether you’re looking for somewhere to go and enjoy the show or just wanting to know when you’ll need to keep the pets inside, we’ve saved you the hassle and rounded up a selection of the displays being held this year.

Northwich FireFest - November 2

FireFest at Verdin Park claims to be Mid Cheshire's 'biggest' display, featuring more than 2,800 individual firework bursts.

Organised by Northwich Rotary Club and Northwich Round Table, the event will also feature a fairground and a range of food and drink outlets.

Gates open at 5.30pm with the bonfire being lit at 6.30pm and the firework display itself at 7.15pm.

Tickets are priced at £10 for ages 16 over and £5 for ages four to 15, with under-threes going free.

Winsford Town Council - November 2

Winsford Town Council's annual bonfire and fireworks display will be held at the home Winsford United, Barton Stadium.

This year's event will feature stilt walkers and fire entertainers as well as games, stalls, food and a bar.

Tickets can be purchased on the day with gates opening at 6pm on Saturday, November 2.

Middlewich Cricket Club - November 2

Middlewich's Bonfire and Fireworks Spectacular promises to be an 'unforgettable evening', complete with food vendors and a fully-stocked bar.

The traditional bonfire will be lit at 7pm with the fireworks display getting underway at 8pm.

Tickets can be purchased through the cricket club with a family ticket (two adults and two children) available for £26.

Knutsford District Scouts - November 2

The Scouts have been putting on a fireworks display at Booths Park for more than 40 years.

Gates open at 6.30pm, with food and mulled wine available.

The bonfire will be lit at 7pm ahead of the fireworks display at 7.30pm.

Tickets cost £8, with under-fives going free.

Fireworks over the Showground - November 9

The Cheshire Showground in Tabley is preparing to hosts its first-ever bonfire night.

Taking place a week later than most displays, gates to the new event open at 5.30pm, with the fireworks being set off at 7.30pm.

Tickets can be purchased through the Royal Cheshire County Show website now, with free entry for under-fours.

2nd Wharton Scouts, Winsford - November 2

Wharton Scouts, whose hut is on Greville Road, are offering a budget-friendly fireworks display this year.

Entry to the event, which begins at 6.45pm, is just £1 and includes a free hot drink.

There will also be stew, soup and hot dogs available.

Blakemere - November 2

It will be a double celebration at Blakemere Village as the popular attraction celebrates both its 30th birthday and Guy Fawkes Night.

Live entertainment, a DJ, funfair rides, and fire breathers will keep the crowds entertained.

Gates open at 5.15pm with the firework display taking place at 7.30pm.

Tickets are priced between £8 and £13.50, with under-twos going free.
