A DRINK-DRIVER caught over the legal alcohol has been banned from the road.
Kieron Maher, of Twinnies Road, Wilmslow, admitted having 50 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on September 30.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath.
The 33-year-old was caught over the limit whilst behind the wheel of a BMW on West Road in Congleton on Sunday, September 8, this year.
Maher was banned from driving for 14 months.
This ban could be reduced to 14 weeks if the defendant completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course by June 13, next year.
Maher was fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs and £48 victim surcharge.
Magistrates took his guilty plea into consideration when imposing the sentence.
The defendant was given until November 28 to pay the £253 court penalty in full.
