A TOILETRY bank has been hailed ‘an amazing charity changing lives for the better’.

The commendation came from the High Sheriff of Cheshire, Clare Hayward, as she met volunteers and trustees at the Bare Necessities toiletry bank in Wilmslow.

The charity was founded by two friends, determined to do something to help local people have equal access to personal hygiene products.

The pair strongly believe that no-one should have to choose between eating and keeping clean.

The High Sheriff was shown the type of toiletry and hygiene products recipients of the tote bags receive.

It was explained how products are packed into age and gender specific bags and delivered monthly to 35 charities across Cheshire East and Manchester.

Charities include women, youth and schools, mother and baby, foodbanks and street homeless.

Mrs Heywood said: “What an impressive team.

“We loved understanding your purpose, how you operate and to see the passion, enthusiasm and high level of capability. Amazing!”

Tiffany Salmon, from generous corporate supporter, Amelia Knight Ltd make-up manufacturer, also visited the charity.

Amelia Knight donate make-up products which are then used as a treat in the standard tote bags and in some of the special projects that are run throughout the year.

These include Mother’s Day packs, prom packs and Christmas presents. The charity says giving those with nothing a little something helps them feel included and brightens their day.

Tiffany said:”Such an eye opening visit.

“A hugely impressive group who, it is clear, are making a massive impact on the local communities.

“Amelia Knight Ltd is so happy to be able to support.”

The High Sheriff also brought her own donation of toiletry products which were added to the totes.

The charity relies on the generosity of people in Cheshire to donate both products, money and time.

Anyone wishing to buy an extra toiletry in their weekly shop or have any unused, unwanted makeup and toiletries, full sized or minis, can drop them off in donation boxes.
