KIND-HEARTED volunteers have helped to tidy and transform overgrown gardens for elderly and infirm residents.

Barclays employees from Radbroke Hall donned boots to clear weeds, trim back shrubs and cut grass.

The team joined Knutsford GROW, a small, vibrant charity which has operated for 25 years.

Neil Forbes, chairman of GROW, said: “The support of local companies is vital in helping us deliver our gardening services.

“We’re grateful to Barclays and other companies who provide both funds and extra volunteers to ensure that we can continue to operate, helping many frail and disabled people who can’t afford gardeners, keep on top of their gardens.”

GROW volunteers come from all walks of life, some with their own mental and physical health issues.

They’re supported with training and they work in a structured and supervised environment.
