AN inquest has been formally opened into the death of a 39-year-old man who was hit by a train.
Daniel Thompson, from Crewe, sadly died on August 31 after the incident at Handforth railway station near Wilmslow.
On Wednesday, area coroner for Cheshire Victoria Davies formally opened an inquest into Mr Thompson’s death.
She set an inquest date for February of next year.
Paramedics and other emergency services were called to the incident on August 31 of this year, but Mr Thompson was declared dead at the scene.
