NEARLY a dozen airlines including Jet2, Lufthansa and Vueling are due to move terminals at Manchester airport in the coming months.
Altogether, 11 carriers will soon be transferring from Terminals 1 and 3 to Terminal 2, as part of a £1.3 billion redevelopment due to be completed next year.
The changes begin in late October.
Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian will switch on October 27, followed by Tap Air Portugal on October 30.
Biman Bangladesh will transfer on November 5, followed by Jet2.com a day later.
Iberia Express and Vueling will relocate on November 7, Egyptair and Sun Express on November 12 and Royal Jordanian the following day.
The airport said airlines had already contacted passengers to advise them of the change.
The airport is providing passengers with all the information they need to know about the moves to help them plan ahead, or to make any changes to car park or lounge bookings they need to.
Several airlines already operate from the new Terminal 2, the first section of which opened in 2021.
The moves are part of a major regeneration programme.
Terminal 2 is being doubled in size and when it is fully completed will be the airport’s main terminal, serving more than 70 per cent of its passengers.
Affected airlines have already contacted passengers due to travel to advise them of the change.
Passengers who have already booked parking near to Terminal 1 or 3 can change their bookings.
Anyone who has booked lounge access in Terminal 1 or 3 can also amend their reservations.
Passengers who have booked parking or lounge access through a third party will have to contact the provider they booked through.
In a small number of instances there will be passengers arriving into a different terminal than they departed from.
Terminal 2 is around 15 to 20 minutes’ walk from the car parks serving Terminals 1 and 3 and there is clear signage.
Other airlines will also be moving from Terminals 1 and 3 to Terminal 2 at later dates.
Those airlines will be in touch with affected passengers where necessary.
