BAKERS of all ages are invited to take part in a special competition.
The Big Birthday Bake Off is raising funds for the mayor of Knutsford’s chosen charities and celebrates the 50th anniversary of Knutsford Town Council which was established in 1974.
The culinary challenge is being held at the Picnic in the Park event on Sunday, September 22.

The competition is open to all ages and skill levels, whether this could be your first attempt at making cup cakes or a your latest masterpiece.
This is a friendly competition judged by mayor Cllr Colin Banks and two members of Knutsford Bake Club.
Cllr Banks said: “Come and showcase your creations in our bake-off tent, no matter what your age or ability.
“I am looking forward to sampling your creations”.
Participants are encouraged to enter their best bakes, in four categories, cakes, bread, tart and tray bake.
There will be prizes for adults and children under 18.
The cakes need to be dropped off between 12 noon and 2pm and the winners will be announced at 2.30pm.
Picnic in the Park is a free community event taking place on St Helena’s Field, beside Adeleide Heath Academy in Longridge.
A selection of cakes, kindly baked and donated by Knutsford Bake Club will be on sale.
All proceeds will support the mayor’s chosen charities, Just Drop-In and The Welcome.
