A DRIVER clocked speeding has been hit with a £300 fine.
Sherry Dean, of Whitebarn Road, Alderley Edge, pleaded guilty at Chester Magistrates’ Court on August 28 to exceeding the speed limit.
The 49-year-old was caught speeding on manned equipment whilst driving a Land Rover at Higher Town Green on Chelford Road towards Gough Lane on March 9, this year.
The speed recorded by a Home Office type approved device was 39mph.
The speed limit of 30mph was signified by street lighting placed at less than 200 yard intervals, the court was told.
Dean was fined £146 and ordered to pay £110 costs and £58 victim surcharge.
Her driving licence was endorsed with three points.
Magistrates took her guilty plea into consideration when imposing the penalty.
Dean was given until September 28 to pay the £314 court penalty.
