THE newly appointed headmistress of Alderley Edge School for Girls said she is ‘thrilled’ to lead the school into the next quarter of a century.
Caroline Wood brings extensive educational experience both in teaching and leadership roles, having worked at independent day school for 20 years.
Her previous role was deputy head for pastoral care.

Mrs Wood is passionate about leading a school where academic excellence is delivered within a nurturing, family environment.
She also supports staff placing equal emphasis on the wellbeing of the girls and developing their individual characters.
During her 25 years in education, Mrs Wood's responsibilities have included being the school’s designated safeguarding lead and in charge of delivering the school’s pastoral care.
She prides herself in providing a pupil and family-centred school experience where everyone is supported to help them succeed.
As an experienced Independent Schools Inspectorate inspector, she has a detailed understanding of delivering high quality education across the sector.
Mrs Wood said: "I am absolutely thrilled to lead the school into its next quarter of a century.

Alderley Edge School for Girls is an independent day school for pupils aged two to 18.
