THE Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for thunderstorms affecting all of Cheshire.
Though it's been a largely sunny day in the county today (August 31) the forecasting agency expects things to take a turn for the worse from the early hours of tomorrow
The yellow alert covers towns across the county, including Warrington, Widnes, Runcorn, Knutsford, Northwich, Winsford, and Middlewich.
The alert comes into force at 1am on Sunday morning, and will remain in place until 9pm on Sunday night.
Meteorologists says say there is 'a small chance of flooding and disruption from heavy showers', as a result of the thunderstorm.
Other areas of the UK, including much of central England, are also covered by the warning.
A Met Office spokesman said: "Spray and sudden flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures.
"Where flooding or lightning strikes occur, there is a chance of delays and some cancellations to train and bus services.
"There is a slight chance that power cuts could occur and other services to some homes and businesses could be lost.
"There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly, with damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds."
