A WILMSLOW schoolgirl is celebrating after gaining eight GCSEs.
Ruby Roberts, head girl at Beech Hall School in Tytherington, got two grade 9s in English language and English literature.
She plans to study English literature, media studies and sociology A-levels at Wilmslow High School.

Headmaster James Allen said: “Ruby is a hard-working pupil with a highly positive attitude to learning and in her position as head girl.
“She has been an exceptional role model.
“We are incredibly pleased that her efforts have now been rewarded with an excellent set of results.
“We are proud of Ruby for her accomplishments and look forward to hearing about her future achievements.
“We are committed to the development of the whole child and hope that by fostering a caring community within a secure, stimulating environment each child will fulfil their potential academically, socially, physically and emotionally.
“It has been a pleasure to see this year’s cohort flourish.
“We wish them the very best of luck as they embark on the next stage of their academic journey as confident, determined and happy young individuals, whether that is in our new sixth form or elsewhere.”
Beech Hall School is a non-selective independent school for children aged 6 months to 18 years in the Peak District.
