KNUTSFORD and Wilmslow students were jumping for joy after acing their GCSEs at The King's School.

Pupils recorded a stunning set of results with 59 per cent of all grades at 9 to 7, the equivalent of A* to A.

“These results are the outcome of a huge amount of hard work from a talented group of pupils.

“The results continue the school's sustained, upward trajectory of academic achievement.

"Our inspirational learning environment and innovative teaching have helped our young people to reach the highest academic standards, alongside their strength of character, resilience and wide range of interests.

“I look forward to welcoming this group of pupils back to our sixth form where they will go on to further success."

Successful Knutsford students include Leon Lewer-Sotiriou, who got one 8, one 7, three 6s and two 5s.

Talented actress and school Captain Phoebe Harrison, 16, gained four nines, five 8s, one 7 and one 6 and will take biology, history and maths at A-level before applying to read politics and international relations.

Romily Hughes, 16, who got two 9s, three 8s and two 7s, is a member of King's champion trampoline and cheerleading squads and will study English language, geography and psychology at A Level.

Hannah Ross, 16, a Duke of Edinburgh award holder and top cheerleader who gained two 9s, four 8s, four 7s, and one 6 will take German, economics and maths at A -evel.

Actor and musician, Will Gandy, 16, who got nine 9s and one eight and ultimately hopes to read modern foreign languages.

Three successful Wilmslow students include sports woman Charlotte Hunt, 16, who got one 9, five 8s, two 7s, one 6 and will study maths, economics and French with a view to applying to university to read economics.

Robb Thomas, 16, who got six 9s, four 8s and one 7 and will study maths, further maths, computing and physics and plans to apply to Oxford University to read Computer Science.

Alexa Watkins, 16, achieved seven 9s, two 8s and one 7 and is a high flyer in King's champion trampoline and cheerleading squads.

Nearly 80 per cent of the results were at grades 9 to 6 or (A* B) with a third of all pupils achieving at least nine 9 to 7s (A*As.)
