CREWS tackled a chimney fire in Knutsford last night, Saturday.

At around 10pm, firefighters were called to an incident on Beggersman Lane.

It was a chimney fire and crews found a small amount of debris alight behind a gas fire.

A spokesperson for Cheshire Fire and Rescue said: "They used a hose reel to put the fire out and a ladder and equipment to access the chimney from the roof.

"A thermal imaging camera ensured the fire was fully extinguished before the firefighters left."

Crews were in attendance for more than an hour.

One fire engine from Lymm attended as well as one from Altrincham.
