MORE long-established businesses have been honoured for their commitment to the community.

Knutsford Town Council is continuing to hand out High Street awards to traders who have served residents for many years.

The retail recognition scheme celebrates businesses who have traded in the town from a minimum of five years to 75 years plus and a ‘lifetime achievement’ award.

Independent traders have been commended for making Knutsford so unique.

Simon Boyd, an independently owned soft furnishing retailer on Princess Street, Knutsford Market Hall butcher, Knutsford Art Shop and Stationery House on Princess Street, Cranford Café and Sandwich Bar on Canute Place and The Men's Room of Knutsford, a barber on King Street.

The council plans to award certificates to more shops in the coming weeks.
