KING’S School A-level students have achieved another record-breaking year.
In the first year since 2019, nationwide results showed a small decline but at the top Macclesfield school it was yet another bumper set of results.
Some 48 per cent of all grades were at A*/A, with 81 per cent of grades at A* to B.

Five students achieved three A*s, while more than a third of students achieved an A* in one subject or more.
Five Knutsford students are celebrating successful results.
Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award winner, Cicely Homer, 18, gained two As in English literature and history and a B in psychology.
She will read English Literature at Newcastle University.
Otis Hughes, 18, achieved an A* in maths with A grades in further maths, chemistry and physics.
He plans to study chemical engineering at the University of Bath, with a year's placement in industry.
Cheshire county and Sale Sharks academy rugby player Evan Williams, 18, gained an A* in BTEC sport with A in maths and B in economics.
He is off to Exeter to study accounting with finance and also join Exeter RUFC.
Solomon Lever, 18, gained As in economics, English literature and religion & philosophy.
He will read politics, philosophy and economics before aiming for a high flying role in the City.
Emily Ancell, 18, achieved A*s in economics with As in history and politics and will study law at Leeds University.
King's Head, Jason Slack said: "I'm absolutely thrilled with this tremendous set of A-level results which shows a continued upward trend for results year on year.
“Our school aim of 'challenging pupils to aspire, work hard and achieve' is well represented by this determined and talented group of young people.
“They have contributed to our holistic approach to education by developing broader skills such as leadership, resilience and independence.
“Their talents extend well beyond the classroom into the extra-curricular arenas of music, sport and drama, with several students gaining international representation in areas such as netball and rugby.
“I couldn't be more proud of them."
The results confirm King's in the top 10 of North West independent schools in the influential Sunday Times league tables.
