A NEW purpose-built women only gym is opening in Wilmslow next month.
Total Fitness has created a comfortable and empowering fitness space, specifically for women.
Features include a stress-reducing design, full range of gym equipment tailored for women and a special area for stretching and yoga.

Using extensive research from 3,800 women to understand their attitudes to fitness and what other health clubs offer, the new gym includes a full range of cardio and strength equipment and thoughtfully designed workout spaces.
Members can choose to work out with or without mirrors, and the interior design prioritises comfort, natural light, and privacy.
To celebrate the new opening, Total Fitness is offering 50 per cent off for the first three months plus no joining fee.
Member feedback from the first Women’s Gym in Whitefield helped to shape the new Wilmslow facility.
Women say a stress-free and thoughtful design makes them feel at ease whilst working out.
The new gym features larger changing areas with showers and additional space for group classes, as well as offering members and non-members more ways to join.
Total Fitness is keen to do things differently in an industry that’s used to offering the same, unisex offering.
Research has shown that many women avoid gyms due to feelings of intimidation or low confidence.
By providing a dedicated space for women to feel comfortable and supported in their fitness journeys, Total Fitness hopes to address these concerns.
Kerry Curtis, brand development director at Total Fitness, said: “We’ve seen a growing demand for women-only gyms among our members and are really happy to be expanding our offering to another club.
“This new facility in Wilmslow aims to meet that demand and provide a space where women can feel at ease and empowered to pursue their fitness goals.”
Total Fitness has also enhanced its staff training, so members feel better supported.
Now, the fitness teams are better placed to advise and guide women through key life stages including menstrual cycles, childbirth, menopause, and perimenopause and how they can impact a woman’s fitness and exercise needs.
It has also expanded its range of educational content and digital workouts, allowing members to access information and workouts at home or on the move.
Sophie Lawler, chief executive officer at Total Fitness, said: “For many years, the focus has been on unisex fitness spaces.
“However, listening to the needs of thousands of women has led us to champion dedicated women’s gym spaces.
“We are proud to offer a facility that builds confidence and provides comfort while working out.”
The gym also provides a range of educational content and digital workouts, accessible at home or on the go.
Membership to the Women’s Gym in Wilmslow is available through a variety of options for one month, 12 months or pay-as-you-go.
Existing Total Fitness Wilmslow members can add access to the Women’s Gym through their app for a monthly fee or pay as they go.
Spaces are limited to protect member experience, and once all memberships have been allocated, those still interested will be added to a waiting list.
