A FREE summer open day is being held at Mobberley Ice Cream Farm.
And pooches are in for a special treat.
Owner Sophie Fox has developed a new ice cream, ‘Scoop Dog’, specially for customers’ four legged friends.

Sophie, 47, said: “Sugar is not good for animals so I did some research into a more dog-friendly recipe.
“Instead of having a cream base, it is made with Greek yoghurt.
“Honey is used for sweetener and the flavour is bananas and strawberries which are good for dogs.
“When you scoop the shavings, it’s a cross between an ice cream and a sorbet.”
The fun day is on Sunday, August 18, from 12 noon to 4pm.
Attractions include a bouncy castle, face painting and craft tables where children can make their own wands and games.
Sophie said: “I wanted to do something for the local community during the school holidays.”
The Flaming Gourmand from Knutsford will be running a barbecue.
Sophie took over the company from husband and wife Brian and Deborah Brereton in March.
The couple started making ice cream during lockdown and developed more than 30 flavours as demand soared.
“I absolutely love it,” said Sophie, who studied at the former Mid-Cheshire College before graduating with a BA in Hospitality from Birmingham College of Food.
Her first job was at Cotton’s Hotel before she embarked on an exciting career which took her all over the world.
“I’m a big ice cream fan so I’m in ice cream heaven,” she said.
“We’re still creating a batch of hand-crafted ice cream.
“We’ve introduced some new flavours, mint choc chip made with fresh mint, brown sugar banana, cookies and cream and Stracciatella.
“We also serve sorbets for the first time, mango and lime and tart raspberry.”
Dairy Farm on Church Lane is now open seven days a week, offering breakfast from 10am, light lunches, cakes and coffee.
Room hire is also available for birthday celebrations and private bookings.
