A MAN caught almost twice the drink-drive limit has been banned from the roads for more than a year.
Kieron Lyons, of Egerton Road, Wilmslow, was travelling in an Audi along Alderley Road in the town on July 10 when he was caught.
A breath test revealed the 38-year-old had 54 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of his breath.
The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.
Lyons appeared at Crewe Magistrates Court on August 8 where he pleaded guilty to drink-driving.
Taking his admission into account, the bench disqualified him from driving for 15 months, which can be reduced by 15 weeks if he completes a rehabilitation course by May 25 next year.
Magistrates also fined him £364 and ordered Lyons to pay £85 in court costs and a £146 victim surcharge.
