A LUXURY prize draw, which offers people the chance to win million pound dream homes, is supporting Cheshire residents.

Tatton MP Esther McVey has secured £25,000 of charity donations from Omaze to help benefit cancer patients and young people.

Ms McVey was contacted by the organisation and asked to put together a list of charities and what they did in the area.

It has now been confirmed Wilmslow Youth has received £5,000 and East Cheshire Hospice's Hospice @Home team has been given £20,000.

Ms McVey said: “I am delighted that Wilmslow Youth along with the hospice, which supports many families in our area, will benefit.

“I know the money will be gratefully received and put to good use.

“Both charities do amazing work and I am pleased that their work is being appreciated.”

Wilmslow Youth provides free, early intervention for mental health support for the young people aged 11 to 18 and their parents or guardians, as well as supporting those who care for young people.

Matt Williamson, from Wilmslow Youth, said: “We’re hugely grateful to Omaze for their support, and to Esther for championing the work we do to support local young people.

“These funds will be a big help towards keeping these services available to those who need them most."

The Hospice @Home team provides specialist support for those requiring end of life care who want to spend their final days at home, rather than in a hospice.

Sarah Dale, who founded Hospice @Home, said: “Hospice @Home provides timely and equitable access to a high-quality service delivered by a well-trained workforce.

“The hospice teams offer holistic, personalized care to palliative and end-of-life patients and their caregivers in East Cheshire.

“Statutory funding does not cover the cost of the Hospice @Home service, so donations from individuals, families, and corporate companies such as Omaze are gratefully received.

“Feedback from families and carers is humbling and identifies that this is a much needed service.

“These donations safeguard the continued work of the H@H service for our local community.”

Omaze is a for-profit fundraising company that offers people the chance to win prizes in exchange for financial contributions to charity.

The company was founded in the US in 2012 by Ryan Cummins and Matthew Pohlson, and expanded to the UK in 2020

The organisation has house draw charity partners, national organisations it regularly donates to, but also donates to local communities where the grand prize houses are located.
