A MAN caught drug-driving twice in a month has been banned from the roads.

Jamaal Johnson, of St John’s Vale, Knutsford, pleaded guilty to three charges of drug-driving when the case was heard at Crewe Magistrates’ Court on July 29.

The 27-year-old was first caught on April 10 earlier this year, when his BMW was stopped in Higher Downs, Knutsford.

On this occasion, a blood test revealed Johnson had at least 2.1µg/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, an ingredient of cannabis, in his system.

He was also found to have 54 micrograms of Benzoylecgonine, a breakdown product of cocaine, in his blood. The legal limits for these drugs are 2µg/L and 50µg/L respectively.

Despite being caught, Johnson got back behind the wheel on April 29 after taking drugs and was caught in Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam.

The blood test following this incident revealed Johnson had 3.9μg/L of Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol in his system.

At the hearing on July 29, Johnson was handed a 12-month community order by magistrates.

As part of this, he must complete up to 10 days of rehabilitation activity and 100 hours of unpaid work.

Johnson was also banned from driving for three years.

Disqualification is obligatory for drug-driving offences, the court heard.

The defendant was ordered to pay £85 costs and £114 victim surcharge.

Magistrates took his guilty pleas into consideration when imposing the sentence.

Johnson was granted permission to pay the £199 court penalty in £20 monthly instalments starting on September 1.
