A CHESHIRE MP is urging people to have their say on the latest noise action plan put forward by Manchester Airport.
MP Esther McVey said she is often contacted by frustrated residents living near the flight path and regularly meets with the airport to discuss its noise levels, flight times and deviations from the flight corridor.
The Tatton MP said: “Noise from the airport is something that is often raised with me.

“I will of course be submitting my thoughts as part of the consultation and include all concerns raised to me, but I would encourage people to take part as the more people who make clear there is an issue the better.
“I want this to be a meaningful consultation whereby the views of residents are taken on board and real measures implemented following it to minimise disruption.”
The Draft Noise Action Plan covers a five year period building on previous plans.
The document sets out how the airport intends to manage the effects and impact of aircraft noise to neighbouring communities.
Measures include a review of departure noise limits and plans to develop or consult on implementing a noise quota limit during the eight hour night period.
The consultation also includes a review of the airport’s sound insulation grant scheme which provides financial assistance towards installing sound-proof glazing in areas most affected by aircraft noise.
A spokesman for Manchester Airport said: “We are consulting on our five-year Noise Action Plan, and are seeking your views to help shape the plan.
“We are committed to minimising the impact of airport operations on neighbouring communities.
“Our Draft Noise Action Plan covers the period from 2024–2028 and builds on previous Noise Action Plans, which set out how we will manage the effects and impact of aircraft noise and operations on communities living around the airport.”
The plan includes a range of actions and measures to reduce or mitigate the impact of aircraft noise to our communities.
The consultation will run until September 27.

Ms McVey said: “The airport contacted my office asking me to tell constituents about the consultation- which I am more than happy to do.
“However, I do think organisations also have a duty to ensure there is a far and wide reach given how important consultations are.
“They cannot just be a tick box exercise.”
